Kaktus exhibition

What will our winters look like in the future? Could we one day be celebrating Christmas on a sunny balcony with a cocktail in hand while the Christmas goose sizzles on the barbecue? Will camels pull Santa's sleigh? And could cacti replace our traditional Christmas trees, adorned with glass decorations inspired by their fruit?

With these questions, Mark Braun invites us to reflect on the effects of climate change. Faced with the challenges that come with it, designer Mark Braun has created an (im)probable tropical Christmas of the future to raise awareness and promote optimistic resilience through humour.

Kaktus will be presented as part of an exhibition designed by Studio Mark Braun at the ‘Centre International d'Art Verriere Meisenthal’. The Christmas bauble is displayed in a greenhouse, hanging from cacti in their ‘natural’ environment. The exhibition also offers insights into the creative development process - from initial sketches to prototypes and finished models.
